Zack Chen
Graduate Forest Engineer, BE(Hons)
Zack graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Engineering - Forestry in 2021. Zack is originally born and raised in Shanghai and moved to New Zealand to study. During University study, Zack completed his practical and professional summer internships throughout different areas of New Zealand. Zack worked as an inventory crew member in Timaru/Oamaru and a student forester in Gisborne where he focused on harvest planning and forest engineering. Zack is a graduate member of the NZIF.
Zack moved to Wellington in November 2021 to start work as a Graduate Forest Engineer at Forme and has since shown strong ability in utilizing forestry related software including ArcGIS Pro, RoadEng, Forecaster and Tigermoth. This has enabled him to assist on a range of projects from valuations and ETS Eligibility mapping to harvest planning and wood supply modelling. Zack is keen to expand his knowledge of the NZ forestry sector through continued involvement in a variety of jobs for small and large forest owners within New Zealand.
Zack is a big fan of basketball and enjoys playing boardgames in his spare time.
