Carbon Forestry

Thinking about planting or registering a forest for carbon and/or timber production opportunities?

Forme can assist with providing investment decision analysis right through to preparing Forest Management Plans. We are often engaged to complete a thorough afforestation feasibility analysis when a client is first looking to add forestry to their investment portfolio including Post 1989 (P89) carbon eligibility assessment, carbon modelling, economic modelling for both carbon and harvest rotation cashflows, future log yield projections using Forecaster forest growth modelling software, draft harvest planning to ensure the planted area can be harvested in the future, and checking for any environmental compliance requirements through the National Environmental Standard or local District plans.

We offer specialist advice around Pre 1990 forestry (P90) and Permanent Post 1989 (PP89) forests. Having a Forest Management Plan in place regardless of whether you're managing your forest towards a permanent carbon forest strategy or for production forestry purposes will ensure compliance requirements are met and a clear direction and budget is set for your forest asset.
